Lévis, QC and Montreal, QC— September 2nd, 2026

Base Camp Connect and Marconi Technologies today announced a strategic partnership to deliver a combined tactical communications solution to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The partnership brings together two Canadian companies whose complementary capabilities span the full spectrum of deployed military communications — from advanced radio frequency transmission to interoperable command and control integration.

Base Camp Connect, headquartered in Lévis, Quebec, manufactures field-deployable communications integration systems that unify voice, data, radio, and computing across disparate in-service equipment. The company’s proprietary software and systems designs — including the BCC-NOMAD vehicle-mounted system — deliver interoperable command and control solutions aligned with NATO Federated Mission Networking (FMN) standards and optimized for Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) environments. Designed to reduce time to readiness, Base Camp Connect’s systems include DISA-listed and JITC-certified security options, and the company holds a National Individual Standing Offer with the Government of Canada, enabling rapid and streamlined procurement by federal departments and agencies.

Marconi Technologies, headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, designs, develops, and manufactures high-capacity survivable communication systems for military application. The company’s ORION family of tactical mesh radios — including the Gen-6 series — delivers high-throughput, low-latency connectivity across land, air, maritime, and autonomous domains. Built on a proprietary High-Throughput MANET (HTM) waveform and incorporating Canadian-developed artificial intelligence for spectrum management, ORION radios are designed for the demands of large-scale combat operations in contested and degraded environments. Marconi Technologies’ ARCHER troposcatter terminals extend this capability by providing long-range, low-latency backhaul connectivity at ranges beyond line-of-sight. Together, these platforms form a coherent tactical communications architecture from the strategic node to the tactical edge.

Together, the two organizations offer a complementary solution that addresses a persistent challenge in modern coalition operations: the ability to connect diverse communications equipment across allied forces in a secure, scalable, and rapidly deployable format. Base Camp Connect’s interoperability integration layer, combined with Marconi Technologies’ radio frequency and transmission infrastructure, creates an end-to-end Canadian communications capability ready for deployment across CAF brigades.

” In modern warfare, the ability to communicate is the ability to act,” said Jean-Philippe Grondin, President at Base Camp Connect. “This partnership strengthens our collective ability to put sovereign Canadian technology in the hands of our troops on the ground who face the realities of modern operations.”

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to Canadian sovereignty in defence technology,” said Faith Rhodes, Chief Operating Officer and Canadian Market President. “Both organizations have been building and refining military communications systems for years. Bringing our capabilities together creates a more complete solution — one that is Canadian-designed, Canadian-manufactured, and purpose-built for the operational realities our forces face.”

The partnership is effective immediately. Both companies will continue to operate independently while pursuing joint opportunities in support of Canadian defence priorities. The first of which will include their participation in the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, Poland, on September 8-11, 2026.
